The city of Bilbao has a wide selection of hotels for every budget. The most popular accommodation options are right in the centre of the city, close to tourist spots such as the Guggenheim. Bilbao is actually the main city of the Basque region and serves as a tourism hub for the Biscay coast. It also receives regular ferries from the UK and therefore has a steady stream of visitors to justify a well developed hotel industry. Those visiting the university, outside of the tourist season in summer, will find plenty of choices to suit a wide budget range. In addition there are traditional pensione found in the old town.
