The Bilbao Airport usually gives out a list of reputable car transport companies to those interested. Some car hire firms include Avis, Hertz, Europcar, and National Atesa.

The Bilbao Metro train network is famous for being one of the most modern underground transport systems not just in Europe, but in the world. It travels to the northern coastline, connects several stations, and makes it easier to travel to beaches and bus stations.

The 'Estación de Abando' -- the main train station of the city - has trains that travel from the Bilbao Abando station to several Spanish towns such as Madrid and Barcelona, among many others. Near 'Estación de Abando' is the Concordia train station, which has trains that travel west to Asturias and Cantabria.

In the southwestern part of Bilbao, between Luis Brinas and Gurtubay, is the 'Termibús' bus station where long-distance buses are based. The buses travel to Madrid, Barcelona, Burgos, Pamplona, Santander, and Vitoria on a regular basis.
